Introducing A Classic

My parents are here and we are all prepped for the big paint tomorrow.

I took one break this afternoon to take my kids to see The Wizard of Oz with the free tickets they got from the library summer reading program.  I forgot how incredibly long it has been since I've seen the movie.  I rented it (from Redbox) once to listen to in the car while my kids watched it, but the DVD player on my laptop stopped working and we never got around to watching it.  My kids loved it!  Well the two that stayed awake did :)  Ver3 stayed awake longer than he normally does and I know he liked the songs.  I was surprised at how much I had forgotten over the years.  It really made me want to watch Tin Man again.

  1. Oh, my! I never knew Tin Man existed. Now I want to see it very badly. Can I buy/rent the DVDs somewhere?

  2. Yes! We rented it while I was healing last year from the local video store. It is on Netflix instant watch, and most of the online video sales places (amazon, cduniverse, etc) have it fairly cheap. The DVD we rented did not have subtitles, which is a huge issue as my husband can't hear dialog from electronic sources so he is excited that netflix now has captions for the show!

  3. Yes, very excited. The visuals were cool. Probably the best "OZ" adaption ever made and I love most anything with Zooey Deschanel in it.

  4. I've started watching it on the internet during lunch breaks this week, 20 minutes or so at a time, but I want more--longer time to watch, less interruptions, bigger screen--so I think I have to buy it. Amazon has it for $8, I think.

  5. I'm glad you are enjoying it. We just watched it again (this time with subtitles so my husband could enjoy the dialog). Sadly the DVD does not have subtitles. SyFy productions regularly are not subtitled, or not subtitle well. They have some issue with thinking people will steal their content if they make it accessible to those who can not consume it in a "typical" fashion.
